This might be Kadam Adam’s most accessible, practical, and experiential Podcast to date, which is really saying something.

The conversation serves as a very useful overview of how meditation, mindfulness, and Buddhist wisdom can help us navigate the challenges we all meet as we make our way through life, and that includes both practicing and non-practicing Buddhist listeners alike.

Kadam Adam also guides a 15-minute meditation at the end!

He explains why he loves doing these Podcasts:

I guess the essence of it has always been just this simple, ongoing conversation with individuals and organizations about how daily meditation practice and learning to live more consciously with wisdom and compassion in everyday life can have a profoundly beneficial impact on our own peace of mind, happiness, and well being, but also have a really profoundly positive impact on the people in the world around us. So for me, it’s just a conversation really.

And the host Peter Coughlan says why he likes having these conversations:

I’m not in the business of, let’s say, selling Buddhism or promoting it you know. I come at things like from a secular practical perspective, because I’m not a practicing Buddhist, even though much of what I read and much of what I hear from the Buddhist tradition, in particular from yourself, resonates hugely because from you it seems very, very practical in terms of addressing maybe the stresses and strains of modern life or even optimizing life, you know, and getting the very most out of it through meditation and mindfulness.

They go onto discuss what exactly they mean by mindfulness, especially as we understand it in the Kadampa Buddhist context, which is really super insightful and super helpful.

Enjoy!!!

On Spotify at the moment, I will add the other platforms when it is up.

I agree! I’ve been sharing it with my friends and family who don’t (yet) know how to meditate. I will ask them what they think, but I think it’s a perfect introduction.
